How to open shared OneNote notebook in desktop app from browser?

A colleague recently shared a notebook with me but I am only able to access via my web browser and not the application, which makes it inconvenient when trying to make offline edits.

Is there any way to access the shared notebook on my desktop application as opposed to the web application?

    You can try to Add the OneDrive to OneNote, go to File- New- Add a Place:

    How to Open a Notebook in the Desktop App from the Browser

    1. Open the Notebook in your browser.
    2. Expand all available sections to view the full list of notebooks.
    3. Click on More notebooks at the bottom of the list.
    4. A new page will open, displaying all your web-based notebooks.
    5. Locate the notebook you want to open.
    6. Click the three dots (⋯) next to the notebook name.
    7. Select Open > Open in desktop from the dropdown menu.
