Update Ring Behavior: Notify download without Deadline configured

If I create an Update Ring, and in "User experience settings" session I choose for "Automatic update behavior" the option "Notify download" and in "Use deadline settings" in leave as "Not configured" Intune

It will result in: The end-user will be notified that there are updates to be installed, and it will be downloaded and installed only when the end-user choose the best time and click in download button. And, due to no deadline configured this will be up to the end-user choose the right time, if not the updated will never be installed.

Is my understanding right or not?

I want to create an Update Ring to offer the possibility to my end-user choose when to install the updates but without any deadline to do that, if the end-user do not click to download button this will never be installed.

    Based on my understanding, you are correct. When you set deadline setting to "not configured", it means that there is no update installation without the user action.

    I am currently experiencing a problem with this Notify Download setting. I also don't have deadline configured, but Windows 11 upgrade still pushes as mandatory without end user ability to press Download button. There is no conflict settings, Windows 10 computers are cloud only.
