Typing a contact name in Calls in Microsft Teams doesn't bring up the contact

This issue happens on the WEB as well as on Windows Teams Client. Cleared cache on browser and tried differnet PC and different internet browser, incognito as well.

But, when dialing the contact name ie. Ian Robertson into Calls > "Type name or number" section.

It doesnt display the contact all, even when typing the number it doesnt show the contact either.
This does not happen to all contacts, a number (20+), I have tried removing and readding a couple of them but that does not work either.

Although the contact itself shows under View Contacts and teams and outlook.

Sync is working between Outlook and Teams i.e adding contact on outlook, syncs and appears to Teams client. Meaning that staff have to go to contacts first, copy phone number, paste it into Calls section and Dial.

Please advise.

    Hi @Vlad Gromov

According to our research, you may have accidentally hidden the contact in some operations.

According to the document: If you want to hide a contact from your suggestion list, it is possible to do so in the contact suggestion list while addressing an email. This can be used for personal contacts, contacts we have discovered on your communications, and contacts in your organization (as applicable). Contacts hidden this way will not be returned as suggested contacts in Microsoft 365 products (e.g. Outlook, Teams, etc.)

If you want to un-hide a contact, send an email to the contact by replying to an old mail or by typing the full email address on a new mail. After approximately 24 hours, the contact will be unhidden from the suggestion list.

I've been SO frustrated by this same thing - finding the name in my contacts list, clicking the call icon, then being asked what program I want to use to call? It always requires a copy/paste. :/

Yesterday, though, I discovered the solution!

If it's a contact that I've added (external, internal all come up in the search bar anyway), I can go to the dialpad, and type in their name (as entered into the contacts list) where I'd normally type the number, and it'll pull up their name there. Then just hit "dial" and it calls them!!

I still can't figure out how to dial them from the contacts list, though..
