Update: Went down to the shop and guess what, the computer is running Pro for Workspaces. Storage spaces show the pool and says it is OK, the pool shows as a drive in file explorer. But I cannot open the drive to see the contents like one normally would. The drive enclosure lights are blinking, and I can hear the drives really thinking... I left it running overnight and will poke at it tomorrow.
Just upgraded to Windows 11 and Storage Spaces is broken
We have an HP Z4 G4 Tower Workstation we purchased in 2018 that we just upgraded to Windows 11. We have a Thunderbolt card in it from HP and 2 OWC Thunderbay 6 Drive Enclosures plugged into it. The OWC Drive enclosures are set up as Storage Spaces/Pools and worked great with Windows 10. On upgrade to Windows 11 nothing.
I open Storage Spaces and the storage pool shows. It stated I needed to update the storage pool which I did. The pool now shows in File Explorer but has nothing where it would normally indicate size and room available.
The drives in the Thunderbay are formatted Refs.
I found with searching that Windows 11 Pro is incompatible with Refs and I would need to upgrade the computer to Windows 11 for Workstations.
Checked and I am running Pro for Workspaces (didn't realize)
Any help appreciated and TIA! :)
