Issue with a deleted user in microsoft entra

I'm having an issue where we deleted a user previously, he rejoined the company and we recreated his account, since then thought we've been getting a sync error in entra.

We removed the conflicting account and the error goes away, on the next re sync though the account is readded and the sync error reappears

Each time the account is recreated it has a different object ID.

Is there anyway to stop the sync error and also to stop the account from being remade?
