Would like to know if my domain was purchased through Azure. Who is shows Big Daddy as the register but the owners of the company do not believe it was purchased through Big Daddy. Also, all the DNS name servers and DNS Zone are in Azure. We are trying to purchase another domain. And having permissions issues. Even as Global Admin. The owners want the domain purchases to be in the same place.

    Hello @Dale Anderson
I understand you're trying to determine whether your domain was originally purchased through Azure, and you're currently encountering permission issues when attempting to purchase another domain.
To determine if your domain was purchased through Azure, you can check the domain registrar information. If your domain shows "Big Daddy" as the registrar, it indicates that it may not have been purchased through Azure, as Azure typically uses GoDaddy for domain registration. However, if your DNS name servers and DNS Zone are in Azure, this suggests that the domain might still be managed through Azure services.

What type of domain are you looking to purchase? Could you please provide the domain name you're interested in, as well as where you'd like to purchase it from? Feel free to send the details via private message.
Do let us know if you have any Queries. we are happy to assist you further.

    Hi @Dale Anderson ,

Thanks for raising question to Microsoft Q&A.

According to this question, you could access to https://whois.com/ (this is not Microsoft page) and check on your domain registrar to see its origin.

If your domain was purchased via Azure, you could find this via this instruction on Custom Domains section.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/app-service/manage-custom-dns-buy-domain or you could find a product named "Domain subscription" within Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Billing (from the left-side menu) > Your products.
