We added a domain but now we do not receive emails from that domain.

We created our outlook email domain on Microsoft Office but in doing so, now we are only receiving a fraction of the emails from our outlook addresses/domain that we just added in the Microsoft 365 admin portal. Instead, some of our emails are now going to the original domain we had setup. It's crossed. How do we fix it without deleting the newly added domain so we receive the emails as we are supposed to receive in the corresponding domain?

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A,

If I understand your situation right,

    1. You added a new domain (e.g., yourcompany.com) in Microsoft 365.
    2. Some emails are going to the old domain (e.g., yourcompany.onmicrosoft.com) or are not being delivered at all.
    3. MX records or aliases may not be correctly configured, causing routing conflicts.

Please make sure the following are configured correctly,

    1. Verify the New Domain Is Fully Set Up in Microsoft 365
    2. Check MX Records in Azure DNS
    3. Update User Mailboxes to Use the New Domain
    4. Check for Duplicate Email Aliases or Forwarding Rules
    5. Test with Microsoft Remote Connectivity Tool
      1. https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/tests/exo
    6. Wait for DNS Propagation (if changes were recent)
      1. It can take up to 24–48 hours for DNS changes (MX, SPF) to fully propagate globally
