  • Tested location in other browsers (In Chrome Safari Firefox, the location services work correctly)

Deleted all browser data

Tested in Private window

Restart browser

  • Restart Mac
  • Location services are on and enabled for Microsoft Edge in macbook settings
  • the location services where reseted, disabled and enabled for 10000 times

    Hi Caliman Traian,

You're not alone, this is a known issue affecting many users of Microsoft Edge on macOS, especially since around version 136.x.x.x (released in May 2025). Even with location services enabled in macOS and Edge, the browser fails to access geolocation on all websites. Other browsers like Chrome, Safari, and Firefox continue to work fine, which confirms the issue is specific to Edge.

This appears to be a bug in Edge’s geolocation implementation on macOS. It’s been reported by users on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Some users found that rolling back to Edge version 135.0.3179.85 temporarily restores location functionality.

Here are a few options to consider:

    Roll back to Edge v135

    • Using the Edge for Business download page. You’ll need to disable auto-updates to keep that version stable.
    • Keep using other Browsers like you mentioned for now until Microsoft fixes this issue.

Send feedback directly to the Edge team:

    • Open Edge
    • Go to Help and Feedback → Send Feedback
    • Include a link to your forum post and describe the issue clearly.

This helps Microsoft prioritize the fix.

I know this isn’t the resolution you were hoping for, but I hope this gives you clarity and a path forward!

After months of waiting for a solution, I decided to use Brave; thanks for nothing.

Geolocation is an important part of a browser, both for users and developers. To leave things as they are and give users an alternative to downgrade is not solving the issue.

Edge was a great client with a great, friendly resource, but without geolocation on Macs, it turned out to be useless.
