    Hi Aamir,

Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Community Forum! My name is Shaynne, and I will be assisting you with this query.

We understand the importance of verifying your account on our platform and recognize the challenges you are facing in completing the Advertiser Identity Verification (AIV) process despite submitting the required documents.

To assist you further, I've sent you a private message where we can discuss the specifics of your account in more detail. In the meantime, I hope the information below provides some helpful guidance on resolving this issue.

Microsoft Advertising requires advertiser identity verification (AIV) to ensure that customers see ads from trusted sources to improve their overall experience. Depending on the situation, you can choose to verify as a business, as an individual, or both. Please note that the documentation you need to provide will differ based on your location.

You can choose to verify as a business if you have documentation registered with your local government or registration authority within any of the following categories:

    • Company, corporation, partnerships, or non-profit organizations
    • Government entities or public institutions
    • Registered affiliates who own their business and websites
    • From the navigation menu on the left, hover over Settings and select Account verifications.
Note: If you have multiple accounts, choose one from the account dropdown menu on the top left.
    1. Under Advertiser identify verification (AIV) status, select Become a verified advertiser.
    2. Review the What is Advertiser identity verification (AIV)? section and select Next
    3. Select Verify as a business.
    4. Review and verify your account's business name and location. Note: The information here must match that in the documents you submit for verification later, or else your verification will fail. You can make updates in your account settings to make sure that your information is up to date.
    5. Enter information about your legally registered business, including Business website and Business email address.
    6. Under Website documents, submit documentation that proves your business has registered rights to the domain, such as:
      1. Receipt from where the website was purchased
      2. GoDaddy account
      3. Shopify account
    7. Upon entering the Business email address, request a verification code by selecting Send verification code. You'll receive an email at your business email address with the verification code. Note: If you've provided a non-business email address, then you'll need to provide your personal identification documents as well.
    8. Enter the verification code from the email under Enter code. Note: If you don't receive a verification code, you may request additional verification codes once Send Verification is re-enabled.
    9. Under Business registration number, provide the tax ID for your business. Note: The name of your business registration number may change based on where your business is legally registered. For example, EIN for the US, VAT for EU, etc.
    10. Under Business documents, provide documentation with your business name and address that'll be used for verification. Business verification documents may include the following: business license, certificate of incorporation or registration, Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) certificate, extract from commercial register, and tax certificate.
    11. If you own registered rights to your domain, under Website documents, submit documentation that proves your business has registered rights to the domain (e.g., receipt of domain purchase or domain renewal). Note: If you provided an email address besides your business domain, then you also need to provide documentation to verify your personal identity.
    12. Select Next.
    13. Review the information.
    14. Select Submit application.

You'll have three attempts to complete your identity verification. If your application fails, you can either resubmit once you review the reasons for the failure and attempt to fix it or appeal the failed decision if you feel it was incorrect.

However, if an appeal is submitted, you cannot make a new AIV attempt until the appeal is reviewed, which ideally takes 7-10 business days. If all three attempts fail and you have any issues or concerns with your verification results, you can submit an appeal or contact us for further assistance.

To submit an AIV appeal, please follow these steps:

    1. From the navigation menu on the left, hover over Settings and select Account verifications.

Note: If you have multiple accounts, choose one from the account dropdown menu on the top left.

    1. If you have tried AIV and failed, you should see a blue popup with an appeal request form link under the Advertiser identity verification (AIV) status section.
    2. Select the link and fill out the form to submit an AIV appeal.

Our support teams are happy to discuss your account in more detail via phone, chat or email to provide review assistance, please see our support page to reach out.

You are more than welcome to respond to my private message should you require additional assistance from my end. Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Regards,
