Microsoft taking money without consent

I recently listed a campaign in Facebook. Microsoft decided because I'd connected my Facebook to then automatically run the campaign on Bing.

I've actually not run a campaign with MS since September 2021. But randomly they took out £100 for this campaign I didn't even know was live. They claimed it was because my ads were synced, which is absolute nonsense.

What's worse they set it up to target people in Brazil? But we are a local business in the UK.

I've spoken to billing and they are claiming that it isn't an issue.

Can someone let me know the following:

  1. What is the complaints procedure for MS ads?(cant seem to get a straight answer from support)
  2. Why do Microsoft feel it's appropriate to run campaigns without getting any consent from customers first?
  3. Do MS not understand that small businesses have limited cash flow?

I'd strongly recommend to any MS ads users that they change their credit card. Otherwise MS will take money out without consent

Quite frankly it is an appalling and deceptive way to take money from small businesses who are already struggling because of the pandemic. Microsoft should be ashamed that they treat customers in such an appalling manner.

Thanks for your reply. I've just replied to your PM.

Hoping you manage to get this sorted. Unfortunately, the people I have spoken to so far have proven to be quite unhelpful and dismissive about my complaint.

I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to stop Microsoft from taking money out of my bank account, it's not fair. And the sad thing is that if this didn't happen I would have happily spent money on ad campaigns and also suggested my clients do so too, but this whole experience has really put me off.

Currently, I have to rely on Google and Facebook for advertising, which isn't ideal but at least they don't take money out of our bank account without asking.
