Windows Hello Camera

Can someone hack my Surface Laptop 3 Windows Hello IR camera and see me? Is there an image a person would see through the IR camera? If there is an image that could be seen, would this image look like the image produced by the regular camera on the laptop that is used for Zoom and other things? How do I know if the IR camera is being used?

    Greetings!

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that you'd like to know more about the IR camera for your Surface.

    The IR camera is the hardware sensor to be able to use the Windows Hello face recognition feature. After registering your face log-in, the Windows Hello Face feature will utilize the IR camera to strictly identify your face using infrared light. Your image will be processed to be able to log in. The red light beside your front-camera is the infrared light which will light up.

    On some laptops, the webcam can be taken over by a hacker and the user is seen without them knowing it. My question is, can a hacker take over the IR Camera on the surface laptop 3 and see me?

    The IR camera is usually used for security log-in such as the Face Recognition. This means that this can't get easily access.
