    Hello Ioannis,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

After checking the update history of the Surface Duo 2, we noticed that the latest update was released in October 2021:

Surface Duo 2 update history - Microsoft Support****

That means the latest version should be 2023.501.541, and the version you mentioned here is 2021.806.220, which is still the 2021 version.

Since you have not shared any error information here, we cannot confirm the reason for the failure to update through the error information for the time being. However, considering that the version you installed in your Surface Duo 2 is still three years old, I speculate that the latest update cannot be installed because the version is too old.

So I recommend using the latest restore image of Surface Duo to reset your Surface Duo. The full recovery process requires the SDK Platform-Tools, but you can read the full recovery steps in the support link below:

Recover Surface Duo if it won't start - Microsoft Support ****

Be sure to back up important data in Surface Duo 2 before performing this process and follow the instructions in the link strictly. After the restore image is installed, the version should be close to or the latest version, you may still need to update, but the update function should be back to normal at this point.

    Best Regards,
