I see a (slot) on the lower part of the right panel.
How do I open it without damaging it?

Surface Duo does not have a micro SD card slot. The slot you see on the lower part of the right panel is the SIM card slot. See Surface Duo features for details. To insert a SIM card, please see this page for details: Insert a SIM card into your Surface.
