Would there be any information on when at&t will whitelist the Surface Due 2 to enable 5G wireless?

Thanks

Tom

This is a volunteer user-to-user help forum. It would be best to contact AT&T and ask them when it will happen.

    Hi Thomas Talley,

Surface Duo 2 does support 5G on AT&T's wireless network. You may need to contact AT&T to make sure you are using a compatible SIM card.

    Thank you

While the Duo 2 supports 5G, at&t needs to allow it. They publish a "whitelist":

https://www.att.com/idpassets/images/support/wireless/Service-Capabilities-Unlocked-Devices-ATT-Network.pdf The current version dated 15DEC21 shows that at&t has only enabled Duo 2 for only HD Voice and Wi-Fi Calling. You can observe that at&t has enabled 5G for many other phones (i.e., Galaxy S21 FE).

My Duo 2 does have an at&t 5G sim. The "at&t tech" stated that they only have 5G sims in stock.

I was hoping that MS would have some "intel" as to when at&t will enable Duo 2 5G on their network.

    Hi Thomas Talley,

You should be seeing 5G speeds on your Surface Duo 2 on AT&T if you are in an eligible coverage area. Are you not seeing a 5G connection when you should?

I have not been able to get the 5G indicator on my SD2. I've been in 5G areas where my wife's iPhone (same plan) gets 5G and I don't. I have a new 5G sim from AT&T.
