Surface Duo 2 Phone Speaker Died - Speakerphone or Bluetooth Functionality Only

My Surface Duo 2 phone speaker died, apparently. In order to make a cell call, or Teams call, I have to either use the speaker phone functionality or a Bluetooth device. The caller can hear me, but I can't hear me dialing, nor the caller on the other side via the phone speaker. I've seen one reference to this on Reddit. Anyone else have this issue?

    Hello Nic Kuvshinoff,

This sounds like there may be an issue with the earpiece of the device, but from your description i cant tell if its software or hardware at this point.

Please complete a device reset on the device, and if the issue persists through a reset then i would recommend looking at your options for replacement.

    To initiate a replacement:

Note: Your device must be registered under your Microsoft account to submit a repair request.

    1. Go to Device Services and sign in with your Microsoft account.
    2. Select the device you want to submit a service request on.
    3. Click 'Info & Support
    4. Select Start a Service Order and follow the instructions to complete the submission process.

    Thanks,

Thanks for your reply. I ended up initiating a service request as I was fairly certain it was a hardware issue since it was happening across all calling modes. The reference to the same issue from someone else indicated that a reset did not seem to fix the problem. As I still had the prior phone that the Duo 2 replaced readily available, I just swapped the SIM card back to that device and sent the Duo 2 back. I don't have the replacement device in hand yet, but I will report back regarding the resolution.
