Mobile data speed

I have a Surface Duo 2 and have issue with mobile data where its very slow. I can get full signal strength and the LTE symbol but barely get 1mb download speed. If I change to 3G under the network settings I get better download speeds. Faulty phone or just poor network?

Thought would ask as it's still in warranty and if it is deemed faulty then it needs to be sent back 😊

    Hi, Womble One!

Thank you for letting us know you're having issues with Mobile data speed. It's possible that the issue is happening because of a poor network. There are a few steps you can try to fix the issue with your Surface Duo 2's mobile data speed before considering replacing it. Here are some suggestions:

    • Reset the network settings: Resetting the network settings on your device can help resolve issues with mobile data speed. To reset the network settings on your Surface Duo 2, go to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
    • Perform a factory reset: If resetting the network settings doesn’t help, you can try performing a factory reset on your Surface Duo 2. This will erase all data and settings from your device and restore it to its original factory state. Before performing a factory reset, make sure to back up any important data and settings from your device to your Google Account. To perform a factory reset on your Surface Duo 2, go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).
    • Reinstall the Operating System: If the above steps don’t help, you can try reinstalling the operating system on your Surface Duo 2 using a recovery image. To do this, you’ll need to download a recovery image on your PC, and then install it on your Surface Duo 2. Make sure your Surface Duo 2 is charged to at least 40% before you begin to install the recovery image. Check this link to guide: Recover Surface Duo if it won't start - Microsoft Support
