Android Auto - Wireless/Bluetooth

Just purchased a new car with Android Auto support (Toyota Yaris Cross) and having issues getting Surface Duo 2 working with it.

It works fine if I connect it via USB cable, but not via bluetooth.

I can pair the car / phone fine with bluetooth for phone functionality etc. And the surface pops up a message to say it is connected to a device which supports Android Auto, but when I then try to connect to it from the car it fails to connect everytime and tells me to try with USB instead.

Tried using my old Samsung Galaxy A7 instead and that worked flawlessly, so definitely a Surface Duo 2 issue - rather than a Toyota issue.

Anyone else had any issues or got any idea for what I can do to try and resolve it please?

Thanks

    Hello Wingers!

Can you provide me with some additional information so we can see if we can help you here?

    • what year is your car?
    • what country or region are you in?
    • when you are connecting are you using the device as the main control screen or does your deck have a screen mirror for this?
    • what is the current build on your Surface Duo device? to check go to >Settings -> About -> Android version -> Build number

    Thanks,
