Hello,

In the governance actions of file policies, I am seeing that "Put the file in Admin quarantine" is grayed out. I am an E5 holder and have global admin access across defender portal.

Usually this should be enabled and allow me to set the location for quarantine files in either SharePoint or OneDrive

Can someone please let me know is there anything I am missing as a prerequisite to enable this?

Have you configured the Admin quarantine folder beforehand? You can do this under Settings > Cloud apps > Information protection > Admin quarantine. Once you have configured the admin quarantine folder location, the action will become available.

    Hi Surya kumar,

Have you configured the Admin quarantine folder location? If not, you can follow the steps below to configure that:

    1. Nevigate to Settings > Cloud Apps.
    2. Select Admin quarantine (within the Information Protection section)
    3. Select the Admin quarantine folder location.
    4. Provide the User Notification.
    5. Select Save.

Please note that once you have done that, you will likely need to a wait for a few minutes before creating the MDA File policy again.

    I hope that helps.
