Hello,
I have a brand new SF Pro 8 with battery problem. I have tried hard reset, update firmware, update Windows, calibrate battery, and still cannot solve the problem. The result of 'powercfg /batterreport' shows 1 battery detected, but in Surface Diagnostic Toolkit said 'No Battery Detected' and not genuine Microsoft battery when trying to authenticate it. Please kindly help.

    Hello ANSSNV,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Thanks for all the information you shared here, if the Surface diagnostic kit does not correctly identify the battery in the device, then it usually represents a battery failure.

I noticed that in order to try to fix this problem, you have already tried:

    • Hard reset
    • Update firmware
    • Update Windows
    • Calibration cell

So before I send this Surface Pro 8 to the Surface support team, let me provide you with some instructions that you may not have tried:

    1. Plug in your Surface Pro 8.
    2. Select Search on the taskbar, enter device manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.
    3. Select the arrow next to the Batteries category.
    4. Double-tap or double-click Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery or Surface Battery, select the Driver tab, and select Uninstall Device > OK.

You can also right-click Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Battery or Surface Battery, and then select Uninstall device. 5. Select the computer at the top of all the categories, select the Action menu, and then select Scan for hardware changes. 6. Select Start  > Power  > Restart.

After restarting, make sure that you can charge the battery of the Surface Pro 8 at this time.

If the above process does not work, we recommend that you try to download the driver and firmware package for Surface Pro 8 directly(Just to make sure you download and install the correct driver and firmware package):

Download Surface Pro 8 Drivers and Firmware from Official Microsoft Download Center

Once the download is complete, double-click and install it, then restart your computer to check if you can charge the battery.

If you're still having trouble charging your Surface Pro 8 battery, now is the time to send your Surface to your Surface support team for inspection or repair.

I can direct you to Surface Live Support, who can help you create a repair order. Here are the steps:
