News Notifications Not Opening.I have a Microsoft Surface Book running Windows 10. I get notifications of news "Top Story", "Breaking News" and "Top Stories", but, when I click on one, I get the message "{"title":"Failed to forward request through Maestro.","status":404,"detail":"2023-07-05T22:01:32.5931681Z - Request host is not accepted for any route. ,"instance":"urn:microsoft:error:0HMR70EMG2CLB:00000002","extensions":{}}". Why do these items no longer open?

    Hi RSink!

Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community. We're here to help and let's work on this together.

I understand you're having issues with your news notifications not opening. Happy to help and provide more options here.

Does this happen to all the news notifications or just one?

Before considering any troubleshooting options, please first make sure your device is up to date. To check for updates, just follow these steps:

Start> Settings> Update & Security> Windows Update> then check for updates and install any available updates.

Please also try to update your drivers and firmware, see through this link Download drivers and firmware for Surface - Microsoft Support on how to.

Please let us know how it goes. We look forward to hearing from you.

    Greetings,

    RodelioP.

This is happening to TONS of users - there are many threads about it, and as I'm going through them, not a single one has helped. It's definitely not any individual user's PC settings. We didn't ALL suddenly have our computers get the same problem. It's on your end, and it's damn frustrating.

Are these tons of users in Canada? Does Microsoft get its news feeds through Meta?

If you are not in Canada you might be unaware that Meta has decided to block its news feeds there.

Meta and Google (Alphabet) have blocked news feeds in Canada. If that is also true of Microsoft, and that is the explanation of the problem, then they should stop the useless news notifications. That they do not want us to access news is fine, but the notifications, then, are a nuisance.
