Hello.

I am having a problem with my battery one not charging at all. I have the tablet plugged in and it charges battery its battery but not the computer battery. I have looked up on here and I have only found one response to basically my question but when I follow the instructions it doesn't work for me. Like it works as a tablet I can charge and use it but it doesn't work as a computer when I attached it with keyboard and try to charge it doesn't charge, battery is staying at 0%.

I have tried all these steps, but still is not working.

" Force the device to shut down and restart.

Press and hold down the power button until your Surface shuts down and restarts and you see the Windows logo screen (about 20 seconds), then release the power button.

Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and make sure Windows is up to date.

See: Fix common Surface problems using the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit (microsoft.com)

Remove and reinstall battery driver.

From Device Manager, expand the Batteries category. Double-tap or double-click on 2 battery drivers available, select the Driver tab, and select Uninstall > OK.  Then restart your device."

    Hi Elona,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

This may be expected behavior based on how the Surface Book charges one battery and then the other. The batteries in Surface Book may charge at different rates, depending on the power state of each battery. Whichever battery has less than 20% charge will be charged first. When both batteries are at 20%, the clipboard will charge to 85%, and then both batteries will charge to 100%.

If one of your Surface Book 3's clipboard or keyboard has been charged to more than 20%, but the other has not been charged, there may be a hardware problem with your Surface Book. How to get service or repair for Surface - Microsoft Support

I hope this helps. If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely
