Surface Duo 2 on Tmobile can't make phone calls "server error"

My original Duo 1 worked great on tmobile. My new Duo 2 gets a "server error, please try again' whenever I try to make a phone call while connected to LTE or 5G. If I bump the preferred service down to 3G then phone calls work fine.

Is anyone else using a Duo 2 on tmobile in the US? Any similar issues?

Just replacing my SIM didn't help. Finally talked to a phone guy at Best Buy who tried putting his personal Verizon SiM into my phone. we could see the DUO 2 was on Verizon's network. then we popped my TMO SIM back into the DUO 2 and magic - phone calls worked. So somehow this updated their network to maybe recognize that my SIM was associated with a new device? anyway glad to have it working again and loving the DUO 2.

    Hi DaveBlock,

We would recommend contacting T-Mobile to either provision an eSIM or replace your current SIM card to see if that resolves your issue. Please let us know if that does not resolve your issue.

I'm having this same issue and do not have a Verizon sim to swap in and out of my phone.

T-Mobile's "advanced tech support" or whatever was unable to help me. According to them it's a Microsoft issue with the phone, not something on their end as a service provider.

I'd suggest just going into a best buy store or a Verizon store.. Seemed like the key was switching to a non tmo network so when you switched back tmo had to refresh something to get it working.. Their support couldn't help me either.. A smart best buy tech guy was what I needed. Has worked perfectly ever since
