USB Drive Disconnecting/Re-Connecting

Greetings.

I recently purchased a Surface Book 3 and, from the first moment I inserted a USB flash/thumb drive, it keeps disconnecting and re-connecting whenever I type on the laptop keyboard or even when I simply move the computer or even touch the screen! Even slight motion can seemingly affect this.

How do I fix this?

Interestingly this issue doesn't seem to happen with my USB mouse, but it has happened with every flash drive I have used. It also happens with both of my USB (A?) drives (the ones that are on the left side of the computer keyboard).

    • Force the device to restart while it's turned on. Press the power button for 25 seconds while the device is on.
    • Check the settings for remaining updates.
    • Run the System File Checker **** and Surface Diagnostic Toolkit.
    • Install the drivers package manually.
    • Check the specific OS build of your Windows SettingsSystemAbout.
    • Download the driver and firmware for Surface, choose Surface Book 3 and click download on the next page.
    • Please choose the .msi file that matches your current OS Build and click Next.
    • After the download, runand installthe .msi then Restart the Surface Device
    • Check the device manager to verify if there are Yellow Exclamation point error indicator. Go to search > search for device manager.
