Hi guys, I want to create some bootable USB Flash Drives as per below.

Windows 10 Legacy BIOS (MBR) Bootable MS-DOS 6.22 USB Flash Drive that boots up to a DOS prompt, has access to MS-DOS commands including Diskpart and can access a non-bootable computer HDDs.
Windows 10 UEFI (GPT) Bootable MS-DOS 6.22 USB Flash Drive that boots up to a DOS prompt, has access to MS-DOS commands including Diskpart and can access a non-bootable computer HDDs.
Windows 10 Legacy BIOS (MBR) Bootable Windows 10 USB Flash Drive that boots up to a menu to include various System Utility Tools: MiniTool Partition Wizard, Hirens BootCD etc and even MS-DOS if that is possible. Then we can ignore 1 above.
Windows 10 UEFI (GPT) Bootable Windows 10 USB Flash Drive that boots up to a menu to include various system Utility Tools: MiniTool Partition Wizard, Hirens BootCD etc and even MS-DOS if that is possible. Then we can ignore 2 above.

I have researched the internet and have tried some programs including rufus, Universal-USB-Installer, YUMI, Partition Guru but still only having little success in doing so.

I am also a bit confused with some of the programs steps involved in creating a bootable disk and copying MS-DOS and programs to the USB.

I have had partial success in creating a bootable DOS USB Flash Drive with rufus and PowerISO MS-DOS IMAGE that boots up the USB Flash Drive to its DOS Prompt but I do not have access to any DOS commands

I also have had partial success in creating a bootable USB Flash Drive with YUM-Multiboot USB Creator and loaded MiniTool Partition Wizard. MiniTool Partition Wizard appears in the Multiboot folder of the USB but does not show up in the USB BOOTUP MENU.

I have tried several times in the above attempts but still no joy…

Could someone please direct me to the best software to create the above bootable USB Flash Drives (1-4) and explain (in simple terms) the various steps involve if the software description steps are a bit vague.

My apologies in advance if I have posted my thread on the wrong forum.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

All Windows bootable USB's can access Command Prompt, press Shift + F10, or Shift + Fn + F10 to open Command Prompt after booting from the USB.

The USB you create with the Media Creation Tool will create a bootable USB compatible with systems that have a UEFI BIOS and drive in GPT format.

If you want to create a bootable USB for old systems with Legacy BIOS, use Rufus and follow the steps they provide for creating an MBR boot USB

There is no native method to create a bootable USB that also has utilities like MiniTool Partition Wizard, Hirens Boot CD etc on the USB, because even using a utility like Yumi Boot results in the Windows media not being bootable, it is best to have those utilities on another multi-boot USB created with Yumi-Boot.

With your help and further internet research, I now understand how to and have successfully created:

Bootable HBCD 15.2 (Legacy BIOS-MBR) USB

Bootable HBCD PE x64 (UEFI-GPT) USB

Bootable SourceForge repair disk (UEFI-GPT) USB

Bootable W10 Install USB-DOS (Legacy BIOS-MBR) & (UEFI-GPT)

Bootable W10 Install USB-ISO (UEFI-GPT)

Bootable W10 System Repair USB (Legacy BIOS-MBR) & (UEFI-GPT)

But I am still a little confused and have not been completely successful in creating a bootable UEFI-GPT or Legacy BIOS-MBR USB with a menu and loaded multiple apps like MiniTool Partition Wizard, Hard Disk Sentinel, CrystalDiskInfo and HWiNFO64 on it.

I have done some research on the various **** Multi-Bootable USB programs including YUMI, Universal-USB-Installer and Ventoy but still have not been successful in making them work….

Followed their instructions

Ventoy – I have successfully created a bootable UEFI USB with multiple app ISO’s copied from my local drives and the Apps appearing in the menu but when I try to execute any of the Apps, they play dead and I get a message stating “No bootfile found for UEFI. Maybe the image does not support x64 UEFI.”

**Step 4:**Ventoy is installed on your USB flash drive. Now, you can simply drag and drop ISO files onto the USB drive. Ventoy will automatically detect the ISO files and make them bootable. It's a straightforward process that doesn't require any additional configuration.

My Flash Drive is 64GB with 2 partitions (created by Ventoy).

1^St^ partition named Ventoy, formatted ExFAT, set to Primary Active and 140.88MB usage

2^nd^ partition named VTOYEFI, formatted FAT16, set to Primary Not Active and 27.39MB usage

My ASUS FA507RE laptop bios is UEFI and my SSD’s are GPT………..

Please also note that all the Apps copied to the USB as ISO’s function correctly when run on my laptop…

But All Ventoy Function Keys at the bottom of the Ventoy screen DO function correctly so I suppose I got something right haha……..

What am I missing or not getting right?........

I have tried the other available boot option in the Ventoy menu but still same result.

I have tried other USB’s but get the same result

I have even tried it on SD Card (Secure Digital Card) but get the same result

I will continue trying with some of the other Multi-Bootable USB programs to see If I can have some sort of success with them.
