Unwanted options when showing Google in MS Edge

I'm not sure when this first started but if I'm viewing Google in MS Edge I see a grey area at the bottom with options relating to advertising, privacy and terms etc (see screenshot). I'd always assumed they're a part of Google but I just realised they don't appear if I swap to some different browser, such as Chrome. So I guess they're getting added by MS Edge itself.

Is there some way to remove them / hide them?

Hi, good day! I'm John Dev a Windows user like you and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

When was the last time it worked properly?

Please try the following methods below.

    1. Please try to update your Microsoft Edge browser

Open Edge > Click 3 dots > Help and Feedback > About Microsoft Edge

    1. Clear cache and cookies

Open Edge > Click 3 dots > Settings

Select Privacy, search, and services > Under Clear browsing history

    Click Choose what to clear

Select your preferred Time Range and items to clear

    Click Clear Now

    1. Disable or Uninstall Edge extensions

Open Edge > Click 3 dots > Extensions

Please check if one of your extensions is causing the issue

If the issue still persists, you may need to consider performing a Reset of Edge Chromium.

Open Edge then click 3 dots > Settings

Select Reset Settings > Restore settings to their default values

    Click Reset

    Restart your computer

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,

Thanks John, I'm not sure when this first started happening but it happens on every computer here which uses MS Edge.

I followed your intructions on one machine but all it did was to stop Google from being my home page (it got changed to Bing, I think). I changed it back to Google and the 'grey area' problem was still there.

So far I've only compared with Chrome (which doesn't show me the problem). I'll try a couple of other browsers and report back.

I've 2 x personal PC's here and I've access to the Safari browser (running on a Mac) but that's not here today. However... I just tried Firefox here on Win10 and Google showed me the same grey area - so it might in fact be a feature of Google, rather than MS Edge. The grey area doesn't show up with Chrome here (though that one's quite an old version of Chrome, so maybe that'd explain it?)

Yes, correct. I also experience the same on my Microsoft Edge and Firefox browsers with Google Chrome as the current webpage. It seems this is a new feature of Google.
