I have to use MS authenticator as part of the access process for my clients' email accounts. I use Apple computers and software and have no intention of introducing Edge or any other browser onto my iPhone, MacBooks or iPads. Please can you tell me. 1) what will not using Autofill mean? 2) How to I transfer to another authenticator whilst maintaining access to the clients who still use MS's email system? Thanks, Patrick

Good day, thanks for your question. I am glad to assist you today. Kindly refer to the below information for this.

    1. what will not using Autofill mean?

Microsoft Authenticator is not shutting down and will not be shut down. Two-factor authentication (2-FA) and key features will remain unchanged, which will ensure the continued security of your account. Password management features, including AutoFill, will be phased out starting in July 2025 and will be completely removed in August 2025.

    1. How to I transfer to another authenticator whilst maintaining access to the clients who still use MS's email system?

If you are looking into transferring, you can export from the Authenticator via the Settings but this is for the password and if you are using Authenticator for MFA (multi-factor authentication) and you want to transfer those keys, you will need to set up MFA again on the new password manager or use your recovery codes depending on your preference.

    Regards,

    Paul R.
