Hello,

I really would like a definitive answer on this as the IT team within the company don't seem to know how to keep this setting from being removed/uncontrollable. I'm a Sales Executive and for me, the side tone is a paramount tool for me to conduct my conversations, clear, concise and with great precision with my customers.

So what happens is, i have the option on my laptop at work, and then i will install a Windows/Dell update and then all of a sudden the sidetone disappears and is no longer controllable within the sound settings in Windows and then i can no longer hear my voice anymore.

Is there anything specific that can get implemented on the laptop to keep it from disappearing at random?

This is on my PC at home, and i plug it in, go to the relevant place and it's there instantly, but at work it's not there at all, it was there, but then i update my laptop and it just vanishes.

Any solution to this would be HIGHLY appreciated.

the main problem is because your "realtek audio driver" has been updated automatically to a newer version which the Sidetone function has been removed.

If you could think of a way to uninstall the current audio driver and go back to use an older one, you could have the sidetone back.

But I haven't got a stable solution to solve it, because I think my computer kept updating whenever possible. I had to keep reinstalling to an older one to have the Sidetone back.

it's a very good function I don't know why they removed it.
