I created an account by linking Google through Microsoft Advertising, and the currency setting is US$ .

I wonder how I can change it to KRW.

Microsoft Advertising을 통해 Google을 연동해서 계정을 만들었는데, 통화 설정이 US$에요.

KRW로 바꿀 수 있는 방법이 궁금해요.

    Hello Jisoo Park,

Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Learn Q&A Platform!

Please note that once a Microsoft Advertising account has been created, the currency setting cannot be changed. The selected currency is a one-time setting determined during the initial account setup and cannot be modified later.

We understand this may be inconvenient, and we sincerely apologize for any frustration this may cause. At this time, there is unfortunately no workaround to change the currency on an existing account.

If you wish to use a different currency, such as KRW, the only available option would be to create a new Microsoft Advertising account and select the desired currency during the setup process.

Please follow the below link for more information on Choosing the Currency:

    Choosing your account currency

What can I do if I selected the wrong currency?

If you set up an account and need to change the currency, you will need to set up a new account. If you have campaigns, ad groups, ads, and settings in the old account, then you will want to export them from the old account and import them into the new one.

    Create a new account

From the navigation menu on the left, select Tools > All accounts.

    1. On the Account Summary tab, select Create account.
    2. Enter the information for the new account, selecting the currency that you want to change to.
    3. Select Create.

Import campaign information into your new account

To read more about importing information to Microsoft Advertising, see also Import campaigns directly from Google Ads.

From the navigation menu on the left, hover over Import and select Import from file.

    1. Select Browse, select the file that you exported, and then select Continue.
    2. Under Review Column Matching, select Continue.
    3. Under Choose Microsoft Advertising Account & Import Options, select the new account you created, select the time zone, and then select Import.

Please let us know if you have any further questions, we're here to help.

We created a new account in the order below

    1. On the Account Summary tab, select Create account.
    2. Enter the information for the new account, selecting the currency that you want to change to.

How can I set it up when the current list doesn't have KRW? Looking at other inquiries or advertising accounts, I understand that some companies use KRW, but is it impossible to choose KRW now?

    Hello Jisoo Park,

    Thank you for your follow-up.

At this time, KRW (Korean Won) is not available as a supported currency within the Microsoft Advertising platform. We understand that some advertisers may have previously operated accounts in KRW, but currently, it is not an option for new accounts.

The list of available currencies is maintained and regularly updated at the link I previously shared.

    Thank you for your confirmation.
I want to ask you one last question ;(

I'm going to choose the currency for USD or JPY, but in the case of prepaid, the exchange rate at the time when the advertising cost is exhausted is applied so that KRW is exhausted, and in the case of postpaid, is it applied as the exchange rate as of the end of the month?

In the case of a prepaid account and a postpaid account, I wonder how the cost will be exhausted after applying the exchange rate, respectively.

    Hi Jisoo Park,

Thank you for your question, and I'm happy to clarify this for you.

For Microsoft Advertising accounts, the way the exchange rate applies depends on the billing method you choose:

    Prepaid Accounts

With prepaid billing, you add funds to your account in advance using your local currency (e.g., KRW). Your payment provider or credit card company will apply the exchange rate at the time of the transaction, based on their own rates and possible fees. Microsoft charges the account in the selected billing currency (e.g., USD or JPY), and the actual KRW amount deducted depends on the exchange rate and fees applied by your bank or payment provider.

    Postpaid Accounts

With postpaid billing, charges accumulate throughout the billing period, and you are billed at the end. When the final amount is charged in the selected currency (USD or JPY), the exchange rate applied at the time of payment, again determined by your card issuer or payment provider, will decide how much is actually withdrawn in KRW.

Please note: Microsoft does not apply or control the exchange rate itself, this is determined by your bank, card issuer, or payment service provider.

If you're deciding between USD and JPY, you may want to check with your financial institution to understand how they handle currency conversion and fees.

I will also send you a private message where can discuss account specifics there. Please reply to the private message I have sent, and I will do my best to assist you.

    Have a great day ahead!

    Thank you!
