MS 365 Agents Toolkit and MS Teams Bot testing with other users

I've built a simple MS Teams Bot using MS 365 Agents Toolkit. On my current enterprise tenant, I am unable to upload custom apps, however in the Agents Toolkit, it asks if I want to deploy this on a test tenant. I've done this and I am able to add the Teams Bot to my corporate MS Teams under my account. I would like other members to test this team bot. Is this possible? It seemed to work before, but stopped working. I don't know if it's because of a setting. Any help would be appreciated.

    Dear Ah Kun, Leo,

Good day! Welcome to the Q&A forum!

Thanks to your detailed information, I'd like to say that: Yes, others in your enterprise tenant can test your Teams bot built with the Microsoft 365 Agents Toolkit, but it would depend on how your bot is deployed and your tenant’s app policies.

When you use the “test tenant” option, it’s like a private sandbox. You can try things out, but others in your company might not be able to see or use the bot unless it’s shared properly. Besides, the app package can be sideloaded into your corporate Teams environment for testing.

About the reason why it might have stopped working:

    • Your IT team may have updated policies that now block custom or test apps from being added to Teams
    • If you used a special test setup (called a “test tenant”), it might have expired or reset, which would stop the bot from working
    • The bot might have been updated or reconfigured in a way that affects how it works with others
    • If the bot was meant to work across different environments, it might need special permissions. If those expired or weren’t set up right, others may see errors like “Unable to post message”
    • Some features may only work if your organization has certain Microsoft 365 licenses, like Copilot or Teams Premium
    • Sometimes small issues, like an outdated link or a missing setting, those can cause the bot to stop responding

Therefore, kindly try the following suggestions for other members of your organization to use this Teams bot:

    • Share and sideload:
      • Send the .zip to your teammates
      • They go to Teams > + Apps > Manage your apps > Upload an app > Upload a custom app > Select the .zip
      • User's image
      • User's image
      • Note: This only works if sideloading is allowed in their policy
    • This is how to enable sideloading (admin required):
      • Admin goes to Teams admin center > Teams apps > Setup policies > Edit Global or Add a custom policy > Enable “Upload custom apps”
      • User's image
    • Make it multi-tenant (for cross-tenant use):
      • In Azure portal > App registration > Authentication > Set to “Accounts in any org directory (multi-tenant)”
    • Alternative sharing (for AI agents):
      • In Copilot Studio or the toolkit playground, kindly invite others to test (requires Copilot licenses)
      • Or you could publish the app to your org’s Teams app catalog for easier access

I hope this helps your situation! I look forward to your update!
