New MS Teams Mute does not work

Anyone else having a problem with no matter what chat meeting setting you select the Mute function does not work?

I have tried individually muting the meeting chat as well as using the Setting feature for All meetings and none seem to Mute the meeting chat.

I am using the new MS Teams desktop app, the previous Teams app was able to handle this feature but it seems since I moved to the new Team it does not.

I should not have to Leave meeting chats in order to make the notifications stop.

    Hi Jess_R

I’m Garcia and I will be happy to help you with your question, I am a Microsoft consumer like you. Additionally, this is a user support forum and Independent Advisors cannot access accounts.

No, I haven't seen any report of this issue with the new Microsoft Teams desktop app yet.

Switch back to the old Teams app for now if you're having issues.

Provide feedback to Microsoft --- select Settings and more Teams settings and more (...) next to your profile picture at the top of Teams, then Help buttonHelp>Give feedback.

Additionally, you can try to clear the MS Team cache and see if it fixes the issue --- https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/troubleshoot/teams-administration/clear-teams-cache

    Best regard, Garcia
