[Microsoft Teams Classic] Issue with routing Audio only on the desktop app

Hello,

I am having this issue on the Teams app where when I select my USB headset the sound is not routed through it, if I select my two external speaker it works, the mic on the headset works but the audio is not routed through it. This issue does not show up on the web app.

What I have tried

Clearing cache

Uninstalling

Changed the USB port

Restarted

Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Teams for education | Meetings and calls | Audio and video

    * May I please re-confirm what operating system you are using for Teams application? Is it Windows 10 / 11 or MacOS or any others?

    * What Teams application version you are using currently?

    Windows 10

    You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.6.00.29964 (64-bit). It was last updated on 11/7/2023.

    The account is from my university

    Also if I may tack on another question I'm getting a "This person must accept your chat request" I have tried the block unblock that didn't fix it.
