I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to you. Unfortunately, there currently isn't a way in Microsoft Teams to differentiate notification sounds for different types of activity, like member status updates and incoming messages. Here are some options you can consider:
Turn off Notification Sounds Entirely This is a more general approach, but it will silence all notification sounds in Teams, including incoming messages and member status updates. Here's how to do it:
Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the Teams window. Select "Settings" from the menu. Go to "Notifications" and activity. Under the "General" section, toggle off the switch for "Play sounds for incoming calls and notifications."

Note: Currently, only Android mobile devices are able to choose what type of sound plays for notifications.
