How are you meant to turn off 'Automatically adjust mic sensitivity' while using the browser version of Teams.

Whenever I am in a call/meeting my microphone volume/gain goes to 100% causing a slight bit of disrupt. I prefer the browser version of Teams, however when I go to 'Settings' the device option isn't there. Is this an issue with my end, or can't you access the 'device[s]' setting through the browser version? Also if I were to turn the 'Automatically adjust mic sensitivity' setting off on the App version and then go back to the browser, would my microphone stop automatically adjusting?

Hello there, this is Suganya. I'm happy to assist you.

The "Automatically adjust mic sensitivity" setting is not available in the browser version of Microsoft Teams. In the meantime, you can turn off the setting in the desktop version of Teams and it will stay off in the browser version.

To turn off the setting in the desktop version of Teams, follow these steps:

    1. Open Teams.
    2. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen.
    3. Select "Settings."
    4. In the left pane, select "Devices."
    5. Under "Microphone," click on the name of your microphone.
    6. Under "Sensitivity," uncheck the box next to "Automatically adjust mic sensitivity."
    7. Click "Save."

The setting will now be turned off in both the desktop and browser versions of Teams.

I have the same problem. Since I am running Linux, and there is no desktop version of the app anymore but only the browser version, I am not able to turn this off. Could you tell me how I can achieve this, e.g., by modifying some configuration file by hand?

This "feature" is really annoying, I am not able to hold meetings normally anymore.
