Hi there, I'm part of a large organisation that rolled out Teams last week. Brilliant, love it so much more than skype. HOWEVER there is one thing driving us all crazy and that is the constant Ping Ping Ping of emails arriving.
I've turned off all sounds from outlook and it's not that anyway (no pings if Teams is closed) and in Teams I've also done what google tells me to do in the Profile > Settings > Notifications... And yet, all throughout my Teams calls and video meetings, Ping Ping Ping! It's sending me bonkers.
What more can I do please??

Hi Toni,
Check the channel settings - 3 dots on the right > Channel notifications.
Thanks for the offer of help Diane - much appreciated! However the pings are connected to regular emails and are not linked to activity in my channels (and those notifications are also switched to Off already anyway)....
Any other suggestions?
Do you just have dings or do you also get banner notifications? I get chat dings and banners during and after meetings - they can be muted.
Are you sure its email triggering it? You can disable Outlook notifications in Windows 10 Settings, under Notifications.
Is the email account configured in Windows 10 Mail app?
Thanks Diane. No banner notifications, no, just the pings...
It's definitely linked to emails arriving in outlook and yet the sound notifications are disabled in outlook (and when teams is closed, there is no sound from outlook alone).
And strangely, even when outlook is closed the email arrival still pings in Teams (I hear the ping, check my phone, and sure enough - there's the email that caused it). So I guess that must mean Teams and Outlook are integrated.... which makes sense as my outlook calendar is fully synced with Teams too (and needs to be).
I am completely at a loss.
Great new - IT'S FIXED! Well, I say fixed but it's actually a workaround - though as long as I get my sanity back, I'm fine with that :)
