"You no longer have access to "34...99". Technical details

I'm the IT guy for a small ag company. One of our users is getting the following error in Teams when he accesses a task in Board view:

"You no longer have access to "34...99". Technical details

Correlation ID: d3..8d

Time Stamp: 2024...4Z

This happen in both the desktop app and the web version of Teams. He has a Microsoft Premium license which includes Exchange, and he's a member of the group this task is for. All other members are able to view and create comments in Board view for tasks in that group.

He IS able to view and create new tasks in List view.

Steps taken:

  • Switched back to the old (as opposed to the "new") version of Teams to test
  • Completely uninstalled Teams (including Regedit keys) and reinstalled
  • Removed the user from the group and added them back in
  • Compared the user's permissions to other users, and they match

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. It does appear that this is at the account level rather than the app level, given that the issue is replicated in the web version.

    Hi, Matt Shipman

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist you.

According to your description, I'm sorry to hear that your user is experiencing this issue. Based on the error message you provided, it seems that the user no longer has access to a specific task in Board view.

Since the user is able to view and create new tasks in List view, it's possible that the issue is specific to that particular task. Have you tried deleting and recreating the task to see if that resolves the issue?

If that doesn't work, it's possible that there may be a permissions issue with the task itself. You may want to check the permissions for that specific task and ensure that the user has the necessary permissions to access it.

If neither of those solutions work, it is best for you to get in touch with Microsoft Online Technical Support team directly.

For this team which is unlike our forum team, and they have higher permission that can check on the backend from the server-side. We believe they would able to help troubleshoot the issue and provide more specific guidance.

    Hi,

I am having the same issue with my company admin account, after some testing, i believe the error notice only appears when the screen is being shared on teams.

Not sure why then only but just thought I should share.

I had a couple of users with this same error in Teams. But when trying to assign the task in Planner Web we had a different error, exceeded max limit storage or something along that line.

So for everyone having a similar case, check the user's completed tasks in Planner. Our user had over 3000 completed tasks stored in Planner, deleted those tasks and issue was solved. Microsoft Support helped us solved this and according to them the limit is 250 tasks.
