Emails from "Microsoft" indicating a request for a single-use code

I have received several (>6) emails indicating the followiing:

We received your request for a single-use code to use with your Microsoft account.Your single-use code is: xxxxxxOnly enter this code on an official website or app. Don't share it with anyone. We'll never ask for it outside an official platform.

I have not requested a single-code. I am guessing this must be a case of phishing. Since I have not clicked on any of the associated links included in the emails, I have no idea if these emails are coming from Microsoft or an imposter.

How can I put an end to these messages?

    Dear MaFaTra,

Good day! Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community. We will be happy to help you.

Based on your description, you're having concern with emails requesting a single-use code to your account.

To better understand and investigate your problem, I may need more detailed information from you so that I can narrow down the problem in the right way:

Are you using Microsoft365 business account(******@xxx.onmicrosoft.com/******@yourdomain.com)  or personal account (which is ended with outlook.com/hotmail.com/live.com/msn.com)?

Since different types of accounts are supported by different support teams on the forum, after getting the detailed information, I will provide more information accordingly.

As I know, it is highly likely that these emails are part of a phishing scam. Microsoft will never send unsolicited emails asking for personal information or single-use codes.

To put an end to these messages, you can mark them as spam or phishing in your email client. This will help your email provider to identify similar messages in the future and prevent them from reaching your inbox.

Additionally, you can report the phishing attempt to Microsoft by forwarding the email to reportphishing@Microsoft.com. This will help Microsoft to investigate and take action against the scammers.

I look forward to your next update for a more detailed analysis. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day.

    Sincerely,

    Microsoft Community Moderator

It does not make sense to "mark them as spam or phishing in your email client" does it ? Because when I and not the hackers try to login I do need the unique code.

For your info when transferring to : reportphishing@microsoft.com , I find that the mail address is unreachable.

I am also sick of receiving these mails and marking them as spam ? I mean is Microsoft a spammer now ?

Why is there no IP check at Microsoft, I only login in the country I live in and very occasionally another country when in holidays. So it should be fairly easy to block requests coming everyday from random places in the world.
Also would it make sense someone clicks everyday multiple times on password reset ? There should be limits for that action.

It feels very unsecure, and I suggest you seriously look into that.
