    Dear Ryan Fay,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Below is a detailed guide to help you set up Microsoft Teams email for educational purposes. These steps will assist you in optimizing your use of Microsoft Teams in an educational environment:

    1. Set Up Microsoft Teams for Education
First, ensure that you have registered for a Microsoft 365 Education account. If you haven’t, you can sign up for the free version or request it through your school or educational organization.

    2. Set Up the Microsoft Teams Admin Center
Go to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center and log in with your admin account.
From there, you can configure policies, settings, and access permissions for your organization.

    3. Set Up Office 365 Education Email Accounts
Create user accounts for students and instructors in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
Once the accounts are created, an Exchange mailbox will be provisioned automatically, allowing users to access email via Outlook and Teams.

    4. Create Teams for Classes/Groups
In the Microsoft Teams app, select Teams from the left sidebar. Click Join or create a team, then select Create a team
You can create a team for each class or subject.
Add students and instructors to the appropriate teams and choose Class as the team type to activate classroom-specific collaboration tools.

    5. Configure Email Settings for Teams
Each team will be automatically assigned an email address. You can find it in the Team Settings by selecting Get email address
If needed, you can also configure email integration to enable teams to send and receive emails from external addresses.

    6. Set Up Assignments and Communication
You can assign tasks, monitor student progress, and use the Class Notebook feature to distribute and grade assignments.
Use the Calendar in Teams to schedule meetings and lessons. Channels and direct messages also help facilitate effective communication.

We hope the above information helps you easily set up and use Microsoft Teams for educational purposes.
