Can't access Microsoft account due to lost Authenticator app after phone reset.

I reset my phone to factory settings and lost access to the Microsoft Authenticator app. Now, when I try to log into my Microsoft account, it asks for a code from the Authenticator or to approve a notification — but I no longer have the app linked, so I can’t do either. I also can’t reconfigure the Authenticator app because I can’t log in. I need help regaining access to my account.

    Hello Karp,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand how concerning this situation must be, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing.

Unfortunately, if your Microsoft Authenticator app was not backed up before your phone was reset, you will not be able to recover access to your account through the app. Without a backup, account access cannot be restored using the Authenticator alone.

    Best wishes,

    Maryam | Microsoft Community Support
