My emails marked as from my gmail account are being put into draft folder instead of sending in Legacy Outlook for Mac This started happening about a week ago...nothing has been changed on my computer. Running Sonoma 14.7. I tried switching to new outlook which solved it BUT then my emails received from gmail accounts would not download or show a preview.

    Dear Robin Whitty-Novotny

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist!

Based on your description, I understand you concern with "from" gmails are being put into draft folder instead of sending. To narrow down your issue, could you please allow me to collect more details?

May I know whether you are using Microsoft 365 Business / Education subscription, Microsoft 365 Family/Personal account(Such as Outlook.com/Hotmail.com/live.com) or any other subscription?

May I know what version of Outlook you are using? What version of Outlook do I have? - Microsoft Support

If it is convenient, could you kindly share me the screenshot of the version details?

May I know whether the SMTP server settings for your Gmail account are correct?

Could you share us the method and detailed steps of the SMTP server settings?

I look forward to your response.

Please note that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

Thanks for your precious time and your understanding would be highly appreciated. Have a nice day!

    Dear  Robin Whitty-Novotny

Thanks for your response! Very sorry for late reply!

To check smtp settings in Outlook for Mac, you may go to Settings > Accounts > Choose which account you want to check > Click Advanced.

Make sure Use SSL to connect is checked.

Please have a try to re-add your account and check if there is any difference.

You may try to create a new profile and check if the issue still persists in Outlook for Mac, refer to Manage profiles or identities in Outlook for Mac - Microsoft Support.

In the meanwhile, please update your Outlook to the latest version.

I look forward to your response. If the issue still persists, please feel free to let me know, I will continue to assist you.

Thanks for your precious time and your understanding would be highly appreciated. Have a nice day!

    Sincerely,

There is no "advanced" option available in any of my gmail accounts in settings/Outlook nor in internet accounts in settings/system settings (see attachment). I have deleted the gmail account that will not send or receive and re-added it back a number of times to no avail. Restarted Outlook and MacBook Pro each time. NOTE: this is specific to my personal gmail account and other gmail accounts that I check are functioning normally until today. All software on my computer and for outlook is the most recent version (macOS 15.3.1) (outlook: 16.93.2)

Today, one of the other gmail accounts just dumped over 1200 "unread" emails into Outlook inbox. I did not add or delete this account recently nor did I change any settings.

I am desparate to get this fixed in Outlook so I don't have to keep checking gmail online and other emails in Outlook.

    Dear Robin

Thanks for your response! Very sorry for late reply!

Based on your further description, may I double confirm whether your Gmail account is linked to Microsoft 365? Or you are only using your personal Gmail account?

Thanks for your precious time and your understanding would be highly appreciated. Have a nice day!

    Sincerely,
