    Hi John,

Thank you for reaching out on Microsoft community, I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to provide a detailed guide to help resolve the issue with your Surface Pro wireless keyboard not entering Bluetooth pairing mode.

    Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide

Step 1: Check the Keyboard’s Power and Battery

Ensure the keyboard is fully charged or has fresh batteries.

If it uses replaceable batteries, remove and reinsert them to reset the power.

Look for any LED indicators that might signal power status.

Since you do change some battery's

    try this;

Step 2: Manually Enter Bluetooth Pairing Mode

Locate the Bluetooth pairing button on the keyboard. It’s usually a small recessed button on the side or bottom.

Press and hold the pairing button for about 5–10 seconds until the LED starts blinking (this indicates pairing mode).

If the LED doesn’t blink, try holding the button longer or check the user manual for the correct method.

Step 3: Enable Bluetooth on Surface Pro

Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.

Make sure Bluetooth is turned ON.

Click “Add Bluetooth or other device” > Bluetooth.

Wait for the keyboard to appear in the list of available devices.

Step 4: If Keyboard Doesn’t Appear

    Try the following:

Restart both the Surface Pro and the keyboard.

    Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter:

Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.

Find and run the Bluetooth troubleshooter.

    Check for Windows updates:

Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any available updates.

    Step 5: Confirm Driver Installation

    Open Device Manager.

    Expand Bluetooth and Keyboards.

Right-click and select Update driver for any devices related to the keyboard.

If the keyboard is not listed, try “Scan for hardware changes”.

Step 6: Use Surface App for Diagnostics

Download the Surface app from the Microsoft Store.

Open the app and go to Help & Support.

Check for any hardware issues or pending updates.

Step 7: Reset the Keyboard (if applicable)

Some Surface keyboards have a reset function. Refer to the keyboard’s manual or Microsoft support page to perform a reset.

Step 8: Try a Different Device

Try pairing the keyboard with another Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., a phone or another PC) to confirm if the issue is with the keyboard or the Surface Pro.

    Regards
