Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community! I see that you wanted to bypass the forgotten lockscreen on your Surface Duo device and would like the data to be intact and backup.
Does your Surface Duo might have been probably FRP Googled locked. Can you still recall the associated Google account for device?
To get past that screen lock, you can do the steps below. But take note that this requires some technical know how. If you're uncomfortable with it, you may have the device serviced by a third party repair shop or person. We cannot guarantee the files, apps, contacts and sms. You can ask this to the repair shop/person.
1. Use an FRP Bypass Tool
There are specialized tools designed to bypass Google FRP locks on Android devices, including Motorola phones. These tools typically require a computer and USB connection. You would need to:
- Install the tool on your computer.
- Connect your phone via USB.
- Follow the instructions provided by the software to bypass the lock.
2. SIM Card Method
This method might work on some devices:
- Insert a SIM card into the locked phone.
- Call the phone from another device.
- Answer the call on the locked phone.
- Add the number as a new contact when prompted.
- During this process, you may be able to create a new Google account and gain access.
3. Use ADB Commands
If USB debugging was enabled prior to the factory reset, you can try using ADB commands:
- Connect your phone to a computer with ADB tools installed.
- Run specific commands in the terminal or command prompt to remove the lock.
- Restart the phone.
I hope this helps. If you still need help, the last resort is to seek help in a third part repair service center / repair man.
All the best,
Restee M.
