iOS Outlook App "unexpected error"

I have a user who cannot log into their outlook app.

"I tap the app the e-mail address appears and I am given the option of adding that account, but when I try to do that the screen tells me that there was "an unexpected error." When I then try to learn more, I can indicate that it is a personal account, after which I am directed to provide the address again . The program then tells me that no problems were found with that account and that I will be provided with steps to take to get back into the account.  But nothing helps."

Troubleshooting so far:

Uninstall/reinstall

Date & Time is set automatically

VPN is not connected

Background App Refresh is enabled

Outlook | Outlook for mobile | Outlook for iOS | For education

    Regarding to your description, could you please share a few more details in the following:

    • May I know which type of accounts in the e-mail address appears that you mention and the email that you're trying to add in Outlook?
    • Have you tried logging in via the Outlook desktop app or Outlook on the web, on the private tab? If not, could you please check on them to see the issue still persist?
    • Could you check if there might be any conflicts between multiple types of accounts in your Outlook that could be causing the error?
    • If possible, could you share a screenshot or describe the error message in more detail?

    In the meantime, can you try restarting your phone, login via another device to see if the issue persists.

    Established new authentication method, user had to ensure 'work or school account' was selected. He can now access his emails on his mobile app.
