Hi @John N,
Good day! Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum and sharing your experience.
I understand how convenient it would be to have images automatically load when you open your emails, and I’m here to provide clear guidance on this.
Currently, in Outlook on the web for work or school accounts, there is no global setting to automatically download images for all emails by default, unlike the Outlook desktop version. This is designed to help protect your privacy and security.
This issue has been acknowledged by others in the Microsoft community as well. Since it’s an expected behavior in the current design, I recommend submitting feedback in Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub Go to: Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub →Send Feedback→ Describe your proposal in detail
Your feedback is important, Microsoft actively monitors user input to prioritize improvements. The more feedback they receive on this issue, the more likely it is to be addressed.
However, here are the steps you can follow to have images load automatically from trusted senders:
- Open the email that contains images you want to always show.
- At the top of the email, you will see a message such as “Click here to download pictures” or an option that says, “I trust content from this sender.”
- Click on “I trust content from this sender.”
- Once you do this, images from this sender will automatically appear in future emails.
If you receive emails from multiple senders whose images you want to always display:
- Repeat the above step for each sender.
- Optionally, you can add frequently trusted senders to your Safe Senders list, but please note this mainly affects behavior in desktop Outlook or is managed by your IT administrator for Exchange Online.
Moreover, if your work requires images from many contacts to load automatically without manually trusting each sender, you might want to consider using the Outlook desktop application or contacting your IT administrator to explore policy-based options in Exchange Online.
Please try the above steps and see if this suits your needs. If you have any questions or require further assistance, feel free to reach out
Thank you again for your patience and for choosing Microsoft Q&A forum. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can assist you with. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
