Hi!

We are having an issue with the email font changing after the email is sent. This is on the Outlook app on iOS, and the font looks fine when drafting the email.

We've tried reinstalling the app (multiple times), manually changing the font for all text before sending, disabling and enabling auto capitalization and auto correction on the ios keyboard settings, updated the app, reconfigured the SMTP settings and it's still doing this.

We've also tested this on the web version and that works, it's just the Outlook app on iOS with the issue.

    Hi @Odelia Tan

Good day to you! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Based on our investigation, the font change issue you're experiencing in the Outlook app on iOS is consistent with limitations in how the app handles font rendering.

    1. System Font Behavior Outlook for iOS relies on system-level font defaults. Even if a specific font is selected during composition, the app may override it with fallback fonts like Arial or Helvetica when the message is sent. This behavior ensures compatibility across devices but can result in unexpected changes in appearance.
    2. Client-Side Rendering Differences  The way fonts appear after sending is often influenced by the recipient’s email client. Some clients interpret font stacks differently, which can cause the message to display in a font other than the one used during drafting.
    3. Limited Font Customization Support  Unlike Outlook for desktop or web, the iOS app does not currently support full font customization. This means that even manual adjustments before sending may not be preserved in the final message.

We recommend using plain text formatting for critical communications or composing emails in Outlook Web or Desktop when font consistency is essential.
