Hi @Dean Langan
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Q&A Support and for sharing the details of your situation.
The New Outlook for Windows uses an AI-powered Editor to check grammar and spelling. While this tool is designed to help improve writing, it can sometimes misinterpret context—especially in informal sentences, fragmented lines, or when punctuation is missing. This may lead to suggestions that feel out of place or unnecessary.
To reduce or disable these suggestions:
- Open a new email.
- On the toolbar, click Editor (or find it under the ... menu).
- Select Editor Settings.
- From here, you can:
- Turn off Check grammar with spelling.
- Customize the level of grammar suggestions.
If the Editor button is greyed out, go to:
- Settings > General > Privacy and data
- Enable: “Turn on experiences that analyze your content”
If you believe the grammar suggestion is incorrect, you can help improve the tool by submitting feedback:
- Click Help > Feedback > I don't like something.
- Describe the issue briefly, e.g.:
“Grammar suggestion is incorrect in this context. Please review AI Editor behavior.”
Your feedback goes directly to the product team and helps improve future updates.
I hope this helps clarify the situation. Let me know if you need further assistance, I'm here to help!
