No spelling grammar setting has suddenly disappeared?

Hello Community,

Any idea why the autocorrect and spelling grammar setting has suddenly disappeared? And how do you get them back?

Thank you for reaching out to us about the missing autocorrect and spelling/grammar settings in Outlook for Mac. We understand how frustrating this can be, as it's an essential feature for many users.

It seems this is issuing other users are also experiencing. While we await a more permanent solution, here is a temporary workaround that may resolve the problem for you.

Please note: This method involves disabling "Connected Experiences" which might temporarily disable other features like Copilot if you use it.

Disable Connected Experiences

In Outlook, go to Preferences > Privacy.
Turn off the Connected Experiences option**.**
This step is essential, if not done, the settings may disappear again after restarting Outlook.

Clear Application Data

After restarting, go to the Help menu in the menu bar.
Select Clear Application Data.
A window will pop up. Make sure you only check the box for "Experimental Features".
Click the Clear button.

After following these steps, please restart Outlook one more time. Your autocorrect and spelling settings should reappear.

As mentioned in my previous response, this is a known issue that other users are also experiencing. The temporary workaround we provided can help for a while, but we know it may stop working again after you restart Outlook or your computer.

The fact that the problem keeps coming back and also affects other features, like font size settings, tells us this is a deeper bug within the application itself. Unfortunately, a lasting solution is not yet available. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience as our teams work to address it.

In the meantime, the most effective way to help get this issue resolved is to:

Check for Outlook Updates: Please make sure your Outlook for Mac is fully updated. Microsoft often includes bug fixes in these updates.

Feedback was already given to Microsoft. Hope they'll fix it fast. Because it's really annoying when you can't deactivate the autocorrection.

It may happen that the workaround does not function. I have now used an old Office installer and installed Outlook 16.95. The error does not occur. You can try updating Word and Excel to 16.100. It works with Outlook 16.95 on some systems. One system has a problem. I left everything at 16.95 on that one. Overall, this is a huge mess that Microsoft has caused. Even with the recent 16.100 update, it is still buggy.

Hello and THX for help. The issue persists. I have make all your procedure. But, I have to select three selection options and not only one (see attachment - with only one Selection It doesn't work.). If I do this with three selections, the problem solved for now. But, when I turn off the computer an restart the computer, the problem still present. This also happens when Outlook is simply closed and restarted.

In addition, I noticed that the font size also does not allow for intermediate sizes such as 10.5 when the error occurs. See Attachment. THX for help.
