Export Text from Planner to Word

I'm not able to copy / paste anything from Planner to a word document. Seems all I can do is move tasks around within this applet on Planner for Web. I really would like to be able to export all the text from all the plans and tasks to a writeable format, csv or anything I can edit. This would be helpful for writing a self-assessment yearly review. Is there a way to extract and copy the text?

    Hi @Stef Tofanelli

Good day! Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum and sharing your experience.

I understand you're looking to copy or export your Planner tasks into a format that’s easy to edit, such as Word or CSV, for your yearly self-assessment.

To better assist you, could you please clarify a few details?

    • Which steps have you tried so far to copy or export your Planner tasks?  This will help us understand where the issue might be occurring.
    • Do you see any error messages or unexpected behavior during the process?  If so, please share a screenshot or describe what happens.

In the meantime, you can try through the steps below to access your Planner and export your task details

    1. You can open your browser and visit: tasks.office.com
    2. You can sign in to your account
      • Use your work or school email address associated with Microsoft 365.
      • Enter your password and complete any authentication steps if prompted.
    3. Once signed in, select the plan you want to export from the left-hand panel.
    4. You can try to export to excel
      • In the top-right corner of the plan, click the “...” (More options) menu.
      • Select “Export plan to Excel.”
      • This will download a spreadsheet containing all your tasks, including titles, descriptions, due dates, and assignments.
    5. You can edit or convert to Word/CSV
      • You can open the Excel file and edit it directly.
      • If you prefer a CSV format, go to File > Save As and choose CSV.
      • To use the content in Word, simply copy and paste the relevant sections from Excel into your Word document.

If these steps match your situation and you’d like help going through them, I’m here to support you. Once I have a bit more information from you, I’ll be able to guide you further.

Thank you again for your patience and for choosing Microsoft Q&A forum. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can assist you with. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
