Issues with message delivery delays in group chats in Microsoft Teams

Hello,

We are using Microsoft Teams as our main communication platform for our team. Recently, we’ve noticed that some users are experiencing delays (5–10 minutes) in receiving messages in group chats, while others get them instantly.

A few details about our setup:

  • Teams desktop app (latest version) is being used, with some users also on mobile.

All users are part of the same tenant (Microsoft 365).

Network connection seems stable, and other Microsoft 365 services (Outlook, SharePoint) are not showing similar issues.

Cache has been cleared and the app reinstalled, but the issue persists for certain users.

My questions are:

What diagnostic steps can I take to identify the root cause of delayed message delivery in Teams?

Could this be related to network configuration, service health issues, or client‑side settings?

Is there a way to collect Teams logs or telemetry that might help troubleshoot this issue further?

Any technical guidance or documentation links would be very helpful.

    To understand the situation better, could you confirm the following information:

    • Are the same users always affected?
    • Are they in the same location or using the same internet provider?
    • Is the delay happening on desktop, mobile, or both?
    • Are they using Wi-Fi or wired connections?

    Your confirmation would be very helpful!

    I have checked on Service Health and Microsoft Teams is currently healthy.
