Resource Move Operation Status – Pending Completion

Could you please share us the below details:

1. Could you specify which types of resources you are moving for example VMs, storage accounts, etc.?
2. Have you encountered any error messages during or after the Resource move?
3. Are the resources still operating as expected in the GeoKey resource group, even though the status shows as pending?

Move operations are allowed four hours to complete. The operation locks the source and destination resource groups during this time to prevent them from being modified.

This issue occurs because when you move resources between Azure resource groups, the operation involves two phases:

The move phase, where resources are relocated to the target group, and the notification phase, where Azure updates all resource providers about the change. If any provider takes too long or fails during this process, the resource group remains in a pending operation state and is temporarily locked. This is usually a transient condition and often resolves automatically within 4 hours as Azure retries the operation.

If the state persists beyond 4 hours, Check Activity logs or notifications in the Azure portal for any error messages and do please let us know the error message of this issue.
