Hello. I cannot log into Outlook on my laptop, which is a Mac Air. I see a service unavailable, try again later message. However, I am able to access Outlook on my phone, also an Apple device. I'm not sure what the disparity is. Available on the phone, but not on the laptop.

Can anyone explain what this indicates?

If it matters, I have no idea what is meant by legacy outlook or new outlook but it forced me to select a child tag, then a subitem tag.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

I understand you're having trouble logging into your Outlook account on your Mac Air.

Based on your description, it seems you're able to log in to Outlook mobile, but not on your laptop, which suggests a connectivity issue.

    1. Are you using your mobile data network to access Outlook on your mobile?
    2. Could you please try switching your Mac to a mobile hotspot network and see if you can log in to Outlook that way?

Please note that Support for legacy Outlook for Mac will end in October 2025. Most users have already moved to the new version of Outlook.

To switch to New Outlook, check if your Outlook app has a toggle to turn off Legacy Outlook. If the toggle is not available, you can download the new version from the App Store.

To troubleshoot, uninstall the older (Legacy) version of Outlook from your device, then install the latest version from the App Store. After installing, try signing in while connected to a different Wi-Fi network to check if you’re able to log in.

    Reference:

End of support for legacy Outlook for Mac

I'm having exactly the same problem and am going round in circles trying to sort it. It is definitely not a connectivity issue. This is extremely frustrating!

I’m a bit confused. I’m not actually using the Outlook app on the laptop. I log into the webmail version, if that makes sense. I did manage to log into my account using a different browser. Based on that, I don’t believe it’s a connection issue. So, maybe it’s an issue with Safari?

    Thank you for your reply.

Since you've posted this query on the Legacy Outlook for Mac forums, I thought you were using the app.

Thanks for clarifying that you're using the web version, and it seems you're able to successfully log in with your Outlook account on Chrome but not on Safari.

It indicates that there are no issues with your account or the Outlook server itself, but rather with the Safari web browser.

Have you checked if you’re experiencing the same issue in an incognito tab on Safari?

If not, try clearing your browser history, cache, and cookies, then attempt to sign in again.

If the issue persists, it could be a temporary problem within the Safari web browser that might be resolved within hours or a day.
